In 1998 Shirley Pugh attended her very first Talent Show in Poway, California. While viewing, she noticed most of the audience appeared distracted and un-engaged during the show.
She also learned only the top 20 or so Acts were permitted due to the schools time constraints. With this newfound knowledge, Shirley instantly saw an opportunity for every student to participate in the shows no matter HOW many students were interested.
Shirley quickly partnered with Garden Road Elementary school in Poway, California.
The Principal encouraged her to put her ideas into action. Waisting no time, she learned how to harness the students strengths and strategically place them where they could confidently shine which gained more interest in the shows.
With her adaptation version of fairytales, the shows became a huge success, thus parental and student interest grew. By 2010, what started as a small group of excited students rapidly expanded to a much large group!
For more than a decade, JTB has grown into a state-of-the-art form of entertainment at its best.
Our structure has produced many Shows at Boys and Girls Clubs, Elementary Schools, YMCAs and many other locations throughout Southern California.
The Company name (JTB) was inspired by Shirley’s three incredible children, JeVaye Sanders, Tyler and Brittanie Pugh who dedicated many days, weeks and years of their young lives helping her to develop the program.
If it were not for them, the idea might have escaped her, and JTB would cease to exist today!
Shirley is extremely grateful for all of their help, patience, and understanding, and contributes the company’s success to them.
